Our ancestral house is one of my most favorite places in the world. Specially when you enter and see the mezzanine. My favorite part of the house where you can look over the ornate banister, which makes you feel a bit like a princess. The mezzanine flooring also has an impeccable finish.
The whole house has a European and Spanish vibe, this was because the old house really was a Spanish type house until my grandmother decided to renovate it and put some European style everywhere. It sounds a bit weird. But when you see it, it can really take your breath away. The living room though a bit small can accommodate at least twenty people, it drew inspiration from a bit of french architecture. The outside of the house or what we call the facade produces an elegance that for us, none of the other houses can surpass. Imagining this it would sound that the house is like a very scary in a sense that everyone living there should be sophisticated and disciplined, contrary to what the other people who does not live in the house believe, we are very warm people.
Every occasion, specially Christmas and New year, that we celebrate there is celebrated with a lot of laughter. My cousins and I, share the same favorite spot ever since we were kids, the mezzanine, it is where we tell stories about each other sitting on the mezzanine flooring with a parquet design that brings warmth and a homey feeling that lets you open up about your feelings and thoughts. While our parents, were downstairs in the living room having catch up stories on their own. Our favorite is when we all dine in the table, It can sit 18 people, and I love it when the people almost talk at the same time and laugh at each other. We may not be a perfect family but during this time, It’s perfect for all of us.
